On May 31, 2025, the Archdiocese of Seattle celebrated its 175th anniversary with a special Mass at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, celebrated by Archbishop Paul D. Etienne and concelebrated by Bishop Frank Schuster, Bishop Eusebio Elizondo, and priests from across the region. The joyful celebration continued with a reception in the O’Dea High School gymnasium, bringing together clergy, religious, and faithful from across Western Washington.  Click here for more about the anniversary.

 

 

We will start construction on our new Narthex Roof this coming week. Please note that the first lane of parking on the North Side of the lot will be sectioned off. Please leave the second lane of parking spots for those parishioners who are handicapped and need accommodations to be closer to the Church. The plaza will be closed during construction. Please refrain from entering and exiting through the plaza as well.

In a statement June 27, the WSCC expressed concern over the Trump administration’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” The bishops of Washington, Archbishop Paul D. Etienne of Seattle, Bishop Joseph J. Tyson of Yakima, Bishop Thomas A. Daley of Spokane, Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo of Seattle and Auxiliary Bishop Frank Schuster of Seattle, said in the statement that certain provisions in the bill are “unjustifiable.” Click here to read the full statement.

This collection is held once every three years and benefits the Archdiocese for Military Services, which supports the pastoral care of Catholics in the armed forces (at home and abroad), military academies, Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and those working in civilian jobs for the federal government beyond U.S. borders. Archdiocese Reaffirms Commitment to Victim Survivors

July 12, 2024  - King County Superior Court Judge Michael Scott ruled that the attorney general does not have legal authority to enforce a subpoena against the Archdiocese of Seattle, specifically noting that the religious exemption in the Charitable Trust Act stands.
