We welcome our new Pastor, Fr. Matthew Oakland! Our parish family will also be blessed with our new parochial vicar Fr. Kyle Poje. Fr. Poje is currently studying at the Catholic University of America, getting his Licentiate in Canon Law. He is taking summer classes and will be with us in early August. Fr. Jaya Embeti, a priest of the Diocese of Nellore in India who served here in the Archdiocese of Seattle from 2018-2023, will be helping out this summer in his place.

Please note the new Sunday and daily Mass schedule for the family, as well as the new Confession schedule. The new schedule will become effective July 1st, although there will be no daily Masses on July 1st and 2nd as the priests move.  Masses for July 4th will be celebrated according to the normal weekly schedule at Mary, Queen of Peace and Our Lady of Sorrows.  Other updates to the regular calendars will be forthcoming, including adoration.

Preparation for First Communion is a 2 - year process, beginning with a prerequisite year. (Click here to learn more about year 1). Children who are in their second year of preparation will join the Sacramental Preparation Program this fall. Classes meet twice a month. Two schedules are offered: Saturday from 3:15pm to 4:45pm and Tuesday from 6:30pm to 8pm. Classes start in October. Click here to contact Adriana Alvarez for more information. All parents and their children in grades 1st thru 5th are invited to learn about the beauty of Catholicism, the Liturgy and Scripture. Classes meet once a month in person on the second Thursday of each month from 6:30pm to 8pm. The parents will continue with the formation at home every week using a given curriculum. The Attorney General held a press conference on May 9th about the investigation into the “Catholic Church’s handling of child sex abuse allegations.” Prior to the conference, the archdiocese issued a statement to the media.
